Rosie J. Pova is an award-winning children’s author and writing instructor whose books have been featured in The New York Times and Parents Magazine. Her picture book The School of Failure: A Story About Success earned a silver medal from the Reader’s Favorite Book Awards, and her latest title, Sally's Musical Tale, released in May 2025.
With a lifelong passion for storytelling, Rosie is dedicated to helping aspiring authors transform their dreams into reality. How long is the mentorship program?
The mentorship runs for 3 months, giving you structured support and progress. Afterward, you can continue with a flexible month-to-month maintenance subscription to keep receiving guidance and community benefits—you can cancel anytime.
What’s the weekly time commitment?
About 30 minutes a day (or a few focused hours on the weekend) is plenty. The online portion is self-paced, while 1:1 coaching sessions are scheduled around your availability. Mastermind calls are recorded, so you’ll never miss out—you can always catch the replays.

Do I need an illustrator?
No. In traditional publishing, the publisher chooses the illustrator who best matches your story and the market. Submitting your manuscript with illustrations can actually hurt your chances of landing an agent or publisher.
What kind of feedback will I receive?
In your 1:1 meetings, you’ll receive in-depth, personalized feedback that pinpoints what’s working, what’s holding your story back, and any blind spots you might not see. You’ll get expert coaching, constructive critique, and tailored strategies to elevate your drafts, polish them, and get them submission-ready—all while honoring your vision.
What if I’m brand-new to writing picture books?
Perfect! The program guides you step by step—from idea to polished manuscript. Many beginners have joined, grown tremendously, and gone on to secure agents, publish multiple books, and win awards.
What if I already have experience—or even an agent?
We work with authors at every stage. If you’ve plateaued, want deeper critiques, or need guidance on branding, marketing, and career growth, the Academy provides the expertise, support, and community to help you level up.
Is this mentorship only for traditional publishing?
Yes. The program is designed exclusively for authors pursuing traditional publishing.
What happens after the mentorship ends?
